Fort Myers resident Judy Cutler-Teeven has designed TheraPouf, a versatile support pillow for those suffering from back pain, neck and joint pain. It works by applying counter pressure to areas of the spine where support is needed, helping to achieve a neutral spine position. She has designed thousands of products for mass market retailers, including Walmart, Joann Fabrics, Micheals and Party City. Her latest product, TheraPouf, was created after she started to have serious back issues three years ago.
Rave reviews are being submitted by new users of TheraPouf, including her biggest fan Susan Gala. “I told Judy to give me her business cards. This has solved so many issues for me, It’s just awesome.” (See more success stories.)
Included in the product is an inflatable pillow, a water-resistant neoprene sleeve, and a gel pack. Depending on the location of the pain, there is an adjustable strap to secure it around just about any body part.
There are 31 million people who suffer from some sort of back pain according to the American Chiropractic Association. “That’s quite a market,” Teeven said. This is the first product I’ve made that will make a difference in people’s lives. And one of the things I am most proud of is that it’s produced in the U.S. That isn’t an easy feat these days.”
